Sunday Night Dinner....

I have been busy at work lately so I have not had a lot of time to blog. There has been plenty going on around here just not a lot of time or energy to blog lately. My friend Brooke needed a cake for the Marquee awards happening so my mom and I were happy to oblige. The day prior to making the cake we took a day trip to Pittsburgh. While in Pittsburgh we found some Martha Stewart Collection cake stencils and we got to use them on the cake, have a look:

We gave them a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. We used the stencils and cocoa powder to embellish the cake.

Here is a view from the top. We all agreed that it came out lovely and hope they liked it.

At Rosetta I had to make 140 mini quiche. Making all of those quiche had me craving some quiche of my own. Here are some pictures of the quiche being made.

I wanted to make two different quiche. I started by making Martha's Pate Brisee . I then sauteed some mushrooms and leeks for one of the quiche.

Homemade piec rust is so easy to make and well worth the minimal time it takes. Martha's rule of pie crust is make it cold and bake it hot.

Here is my homemade pie crust.

After my pie crust was formed and chilled I prepared the filling. I made one quiche with leeks, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. The other was grape tomatoes, spring onions and goat cheese.
