Happy Memorial Day!

Today was Memorial Day and we celebrated by cooking out and eating on the deck. I had to work this morning at 6AM, but I was excited to come home and spend some time with the family. Whenever I make potato salad I like it much better the next day. I think that letting it chill in the refrigerator gives the flavors of the salad time to meld. My mom seasoned the steaks, boiled the corn and made what she called "Barrio" corn haha, she said that street vendors sell it seasoned with mayo, chili powder, garlic salt, lemon juice and pepper. It was very good, I loved it and Nicole practically licked the bowl. All of the food was delicious have a look:

Here is a picture of all of the ingredients for my French apple tart and another picture of my potato salad.

This tart is super easy to make and takes no time at all. The end result is something that looks beautiful and tastes heavenly.
Picture 2

The tart does not take any special ingredients and is pretty inexpensive to make.

Nicole prepped the shish kabobs and I manned the grill. I have also included a picture of Charlie sulking being scolded for getting too close to the grill.

Here is a the picture of my finished tart. Everyone loved it and it was great served warm with French vanilla ice cream. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYONE!
